SAPTARI: A team of security personnel in Saptari district on Wednesday reportedly detained a man in possession of 115 kilograms of cannabis and a pistol from Malhanwa VDC in the district.

The arrestee has been identified as Chhoti Lal Bhandari of Malhanwa-1 in the district.

Acting on tip-off, a joint team of Armed Police Force from Barmajhiya-based Dantakali Battalion and Nepal Police deployed from Saptari District Police Office reportedly raided the house of Bhandari and confiscated 115 kilograms of cannabis stored in nine sacks, a set of six-shooter pistol and two rounds of bullets, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dan Bahadur Karki said.

Further, police have also seized two sets of Nokia mobile phone and a set of Lava phone belonging to Bhandari.

The investigation is underway, said DSP Karki.
