SC contempt charges
KATHMANDU: Seriously objecting the general amnesty granted by the government to a convict jailed in a murder case, the Supreme Court today initiated contempt of court charges against the government authorities.
SC has initiated action against Home Ministry and Director General of Department of Prison Management and Chief of Prison Offices for improperly pardoning a convict.
A division bench of Justices Kalyan Shrestha and Gauri Dhakal began the contempt of court action against the authorities and summoned them to clarify why they granted pardon and released Ram Sevak Farkar, a murder convict.
