SC refuses to waive off taint slur on Henil-Koneco
KATHMANDU:
The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to remove Hanil-Koneco, a joint venture involved in the construction of Melamchi Drinking Water Project, from the black list of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Construction. A division bench of justices Damodar Prasad Sharma and Gauri Dhakal refused to remove it from the black list saying that there was no ground to scrap the decision of the Ministry. The ministry put the company on black list for not meeting the set goal of the project. Kalidas Dahal had filed a writ petition on behalf of the company, seeking the apex court’s certiorari order against the ministry decision. —HNS
