SC to test judges’ case
Kathmandu, June 28:
The Supreme Court today said it will separately examine a writ petition that challenges the appointment of 51 district court judges. The petition was filed eight months ago. The Supreme Court had earlier stated that it will conduct a joint hearing on the judges’ appointment case and the writ petition challenging the legality of the May 18 House proclamation. A three-member bench comprising judges Anup Raj Sharma, Gauri Dhakal and Tahir Ali Ansari today decided to examine the judges’ appointment case separately.
Challenging the House proclamation, advocate Achyut Prasad Kharel had filed a writ petition in the apex court.
