KATHMANDU: A man was severely injured when an unidentified group of people shot at him in Simrongadh of Bara district in the wee hours of Monday.

Brij Kishor Yadav, assumed to be around 50, was sleeping at his house when the people opened fire through the window, leaving him injured, District Police Office, Bara, informed.

The suspects fled the scene shortly after the incident around 1 am, police added.

He is currently being treated at Narayani Zonal Hospital for his injuries.

Yadav is a principal at Shree Nepal Primary School in the district.

Police said they are searching for the absconding suspects.
