School shut over flu yet to open
MYAGDI: Balewa Paiyunpata Secondary School in Takam, which closed last Monday following fears of swine flu, is yet to open.
Regular activities of the school have been halted after three teachers and over 40 students fell ill all of a sudden on Monday. Omkar Poudel, a teacher, said the school was closed as teachers and students had symptoms of high fever, vomiting and dizziness. An increasing number of people with similar complains has spread panic among the locals. The School Management Committee meeting on Monday had decided to close the school till Wednesday but the school could not open today. Dr Lal Bahadur Malla, chief, Myagdi Hospital, said a team led by health assistant Kumar Regmi left for the area with medicines this morning.
