Manang, December 20

All schools in the four rural municipalities of Manang district have been closed due to the falling temperature.

Schools in Nesyang and Narphu rural municipalities have declared vacation for three months. The schools will resume from mid-March. Similarly, schools at Chame and Nasong rural municipalities have also declared vacation.

Annual examinations in the schools of the district have been completed. The schools have also completed the district level examination and announced the results.

Education Development and Coordination Unit Committee Chief Khula Nath Gautam said schools were closed after resolving technical problems. “The schools have given vacation due to the freezing winter cold,” he added.

Gautam said schools in Upper Manang usually declared vacation for three months and schools in lower areas for two months in the winter.
