Schools shut for second day running

Kathmandu, February 7:

Schools across the country remained closed today for the second day due to the three-day bandh called by Nepal Educational Republican Forum (NERF).

The agitators have said the bandh was organised to remind the government about the agreements reached with them nine months ago. They said the government did not take any initiations towards implementing the agreements.

NREF central member Dinesh Thapa said, “We are always ready for talks but the government never shows any interest to our demands.”

Suprabhat Bhandari, president of the Nepal Guardians’ Association said the government and the agitators are equally responsible for the closure of schools.
