Scientific agriculture gateway to youth employment: Minister Yadav
Rajbiraj, March 7
Minister for Irrigation Umesh Kumar Yadav today said the government was preparing to control and manage two big rivers under the People’s Embankment Campaign in Saptari.
Minister Yadav, who was accompanied by a technical team of his ministry, stated that a budget of Rs 100 million had been allocated to control and manage Mahuli and Khadga Khola of the district. “Besides regular budget allocation, Rs 10 and 5 billion would be allocated for the projects, respectively every year,” he said.
“Our main objective is to save the settlement areas, besides saving cultivable land in the area,” he said.
Yadav said scientific agriculture system was the only way to lead the country towards youths’ employment and prosperity.
He announced that one VDC and a municipality in each district would be developed as a model area, with complete irrigation facility.
Member of Parliament Man Pur Chaudhary, Rastrapati Chure Tarai Madhes Conservation Development Committee Chairperson Birenrda Yadav, Water Induced Disaster Division Office Janakpur Chief Ratneshworlal Karna and Koshi Pump Chandra Canal Irrigation Management Office Chief Prasun Mishra had accompanied Yadav.
