Security beefed up in Lumbini for Buddha Jayanti
LUMBINI: Police have tightened security in Lumbini area in view of coming 2560th Buddha Jayanti and Lumbini Day.
A team comprising Regional Administrator of the Pokhara-based Western Regional Administration Office, Shankar Prasad Koirala, and chiefs of security bodies have been deployed in Lumbini from Tuesday for the preparation to conclude the Buddha Jayanti and Lumbini Day successfully.
Rupandehi Chief District Officeri, Bishnu Prasad Dhakal, said that Regional Administrator Koirala would stay there until the Buddha Jayanti concludes.
The Buddha Jayanti and Lumbini Day, the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha, is being celebrated on May 21 this year.
