Security personnel, on the pretext of security checks, today prevented the political leaders, party cadres and common people form attending a mass meeting organised by the agitating political parties in Tulsipur this afternoon.

The political parties have alleged the security personnel of staging a drama of “security checking” at Sarra of the Tulsipur-Ghorahi road section, as well as in other parts of the

district, just to prevent people from participating in the mass meet.

The security checking, delayed hundreds of vehicles bound for Tulsipur from Ghorahi. Bibek Shrestha of the CPN-UML-affiliated ANNFSU, who had reserved a bus to attend the mass meeting, said: “We have been waiting for a long time here, but still have not got the security clearance.”

According to passengers, the security personnel were easily letting off the Ghorahi bound buses, whereas the buses headed for Tulsipur were being held up.
