Septuagenarian Badi woman gets citizenship

BAJURA: A woman from Badi community in Bajura district has finally succeeded in receiving her citizenship at the age of 71 on Friday.

According to District Administration Office, Bajura, Sapana Badi of Budhiganga Municipality-7 was without citizenship after the demise of her husband following their marriage.

The District Chairman of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Bajura, Prakash Singh, took initiatives by establishing coordination with the municipality office and police administration to provide citizenship to Sapana, who said her request was neglected by the then VDC after multiple requests.

It is learnt that Singh and INSEC district representative Padam Bahadur Singh provided the transportation costs required to visit the district headquarters and other offices for making the citizenship.
