Three teenagers swept by Seti River still not found

POKHARA: As many as three persons who were swept away by the swollen Seti River on Monday evening, have gone missing in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City-33 of Kaski district.

Those who have gone missing have been identified as manual workers Sangeeta Nepali (18), Dhwani Nepali (19) and Sunil Pariyar (17), all the permanenet residents of Dang, currently residing in the metropolis.

The trio were swept away by the flooded river while they were taking bath after sieving sands at Pashupati Ghat in the river yesterday evening, according to the District Police Office Kaski.

Meanwhile, a team deployed from Shisuwa-based Police Office have launched search operation to find the trio.

It is difficult to carry out the search operation since the run-off have turned the river water cloudy, police said.

Earlier about a week ago, two youths fishing in the Harpan River were swept away.

Every year over a dozen of people get washed away by rivers in Kaski district.
