Seti Zonal Hospital docs playing foul for moneymaking
DHANGADHI: Paras Bam (13) from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City is bedridden with appendicitis and admitted to the Seti Zonal Hospital.
Dr Sujan Sapkota has been forcing Bam's mother to take the boy to a nearby private clinic even if the Hospital has the services needed for him.
What is more, Dr Sapkota refused to conduct Bam's operation at the Zonal Hospital. The Bam family, hence, was forced to take him to the nearby CP Hospital on Monday.
Why do many doctors like Sapkota force patients to shift to private clinics and hospitals?
Kin of the patients smell a rat here. They say doctors force patients to get admitted to private facilities where they are simultaneously working.
Moreover, they refuse to attending to the patients, which ultimately forces the families to fall prey to their business trap.
The Zonal Hospital's Medical Superintendent Dr BS Bohora said he had already inquired Dr Sapkota over the issue.
"He should not have asked his patient to shift to a private hospital," Bohora admitted, "If he did it, it was wrong."
Kailali's Assistant Chief District Officer Udaya Bahadur Singh said the District Administration Office had received many complaints about irregularities in the Seti Zonal Hospital.
"I have already directed the Medical Superintendent Dr BS Bohora to look into the case and report to us."
