Seti Zonal Hospital opens its own pharmacy

Dhangadi, May 18

Seti Zonal Hospital in Dhangadi opened its own pharmacy yesterday.

Chief of Kailali District Public Health Office Tanka Prasad Chapai and Chairperson of Seti Zonal Hospital Development Committee Rita Bhandari jointly inaugurated the pharmacy amidst a programme yesterday.

According to the hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr Ashok Shreepaili, around 700 kinds of medicines and over 100 surgical items are available at the pharmacy. “The pharmacy may not have all medicines in stock, but now patients won’t have to go elsewhere for even common medicines,” he said, adding the pharmacy will add more medicines soon.

“We’re proud to have brought the pharmacy into operation. Patients will get quality medicine at reasonable prices from here, which will be a great help to impoverished patients,” the medical superintendent said.

The zonal hospital is the referral hospital for the entire Province 7. Around 200 patients reach the hospital for treatment every day. The hospital will also treat individuals with the government health insurance programme.
