BARA: An armed gang looted cash and valuables worth over Rs. 5 lakhs from seven houses at Milanchowk of Haraiya-7 in Bara district on Sunday night. The gang of 12 looters burgled the houses belonging to Netra Bahadur Pokhrel, Ram Bahadur Malla, Liladhar Lamsal, Saraswati Shrestha, Mekha Bahadur Thapa, Nun Bahadur Rana and Indra Thapa, the police said. The robbers made off with 13 tolas of gold, cash Rs 1.6 lakh, five mobile sets and two khukuris from the houses. The robbers fled detonating a socket bomb before the police reached.
