Seven killed in separate road mishaps

PARASI: Seven persons were killed in road accidents in various parts of the country today. Four persons were killed while 13 others injured when a passenger bus en route to Dhangadi from Kathmandu met with an accident at Daunne area in Nawalparasi district along the East-West Highway this afternoon. The bus made a somersault on the steep path after it lost control. The dead have been identified as Jagannath Bhandari, 45, of Nayabalhani-8, Parshuram Sapkota of Nayabalhani-2 in Nawalparasi, Sudan Kumar Rijal, 28, of Sanorsi-3 in Bardiya.

According to police, two persons, who were critically injured in the accident, are undergoing treatment at the Lumbini Zonal hospital. The other injured have returned home.

Meanwhile, driver Hadim Miya and helper Mukesh Mahato were killed when a truck loaded with soft drinks, heading to Kathmandu, fell into the Trishuli river near Bage area of Pida-2 in Dhading

district today. The police suspect that three other passengers have gone

missing in the river. Similarly Kailash Musahar of Jhapa’s Lakhanpur VDC-1lost his life when a truck skidded off the road at Bajho area today.
