Seven arrestees made public for dealings in counterfeit currency

DHANGADI: Kailali Police has made public four persons arrested in possession of a machine used to print counterfeit currency notes from Dhangadi Sub-Metropolitan City, during a press meet organised on Friday. Likewise, three more were made public for possessing counterfeit currency.

Arrestees Khagendra Rajawar (25), Bhoj Bahadur Bam (22), both of Chure Rural Municipality-1 in Kailali district, and Pallabh Raj Bhatta (24) of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-3 were arrested from Nainadevi Tole in Dhangadi-1 on different dates, stated Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sudip Giri at Kailali District Police Office.

Meanwhile, Gokul Khadka (25) of Bardibas Municipality-6 in Mahottari district was arrested from Kathmandu with the help of a team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police.

The four were arrested in possession of the machine used to print counterfeit currency notes, 220 pieces of white paper used to make such notes, and fake Nepali and Indian currency notes. Other confiscated items included an account dairy, steel scissors, a ruler, a mobile set, and a stamp mentioning Radio Sanchar FM Gadhi Baitadi.

Moreover, Kailali Police also made public three others -- Chheduram Dagaura Chaudhary (34) of Kailari Rural Municipality-5 in Kailali, Shrawan Kumar Singh and Gurujeet Singh of Lakhimpur Khiri in India -- who were arrested in possession of counterfeit currencies. They too were arrested on different dates.
