BHOJPUR: Police today made public a man who was reportedly arrested for possessing a muzzleloader gun in Shadananda Municipality-9 of Bhojpur district on Thursday.

The arrested has been identified as a local resident Jagdhan Rai (61).

Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team deployed from Area Police Office, Sangpang, raided the residence of Rai and seized a muzzleloader gun from his room, according to the District Police Office (DPO), Bhojpur. Police said the arm was concealed in his house.

Meanwhile, Rai has been taken into police custody and will be charged under the Arms and Ammunition Act 1962, police informed.

The Arms and Ammunition Act of Nepal does not permit the possession of any arms.
