DOTI: The construction of Silgadhi-Jhingrana road -- linking the main tourism destination of far-west Khaptad region -- is gaining momentum.

The under construction road lies at the shortest distance from Sigadhi of Doti district.

The funds for the project is allocated by the Sudurpaschim state government for the construction and blacktopping from Silgadhi to Jhigrana via Okhabot road section.

Ram Chandra Khatry, chief of Infrastructure Development Office Dadeldhura, said the construction is taking place after awarding the contract of Rs 400 million to blacktop 15.6-km road linking Khaptad.

"The blacktopping would be completed soon," he said, adding that Chandra and Basanta Construction Pvt Ltd has been assigned to blacktop Silgadhi-Jhingrana road section and Rajendra and PS JV is working on Silgadhi-Mellek road section.
