The construction of infrastructure for Siliguri-Charaali petroleum pipeline is to begin soon.
The constructed infrastructure will have the capacity to store 40,000 kilolitres of petrol at the Charali-based 23 bigha land in the district. According to local depot Chief Manish Neupane, Nepal Oil Corporation, in 2016 had purchased the land for the purpose of storing oil. Infrastructure construction will begin soon.
The depot will have the capacity to store 12,050 kilolitres petrol, 28,050 kilolitres diesel, 450 kilolitres kerosene and 250 kilolitres air fuel. The budget for the three-year project is Rs 10 billion.
This is the second inter-continental pipeline project in the country.
