Sitaula plugs for Cong’s brand of federalism
Bara, November 12:
Central member of the Nepali Congress and former home minister, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, said today that his party would come up with a model of federalism by January.
He said this while talking to mediapersons based in Bara. The NC is organising a mass meeting in Birgunj on November 30.
The party aims to raise awareness among people on the need to restore peace, save democracy and speed up the process of framing a new constitution.
The former home minister said central leaders of the party have been touring nooks and crannies of the nation to give a new lease of life to the party. The leaders aim to make it known to all concerned that leaders and cadres are on an equal footing.
“The Nepali Congress is for federal republic and multiparty democracy,” he said.
Sitaula said the NC would see to it that the new constitution espouses federalism and democracy. He accused the government of not focusing on bringing about sustainable peace and framing a new statute on time.
