Police have detained six people for questioning in connection with the murder of a 41-year-old man whose bloodied body was found in Hetauda on Sunday.
The victim, Asman Gopali of Thaha Municipality-10, Makwanpur, was discovered near the Transport Management Office at Thanabharyang in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-11.
According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, the six individuals had stayed at a hotel near the crime scene on the day of the incident and are being questioned as part of the investigation.
Preliminary findings revealed that Gopali had checked into the hotel with another man and a woman. Local residents told investigators they heard an argument and cries for help on the night of the incident.
To assist the probe, the Bagmati Province Police Office deployed a sniffer dog at the crime scene.
Makwanpur Police Chief Superintendent of Police Shyam Khatri said the motive behind the killing has yet to be established and further investigation, including questioning of those in custody, is ongoing.
