Six construction companies contracted for road construction and upgrading along the Karnali Highway have been blacklisted for failing to comply with contractual obligations, according to the Road Division Office, Jumla.
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office took action against the firms following reports prepared by the Jumla Road Division Office. The companies had also been contracted for road maintenance and works along the route connecting Jumla with the Manang-Mustang area.
Binamra Construction Service of Surkhet, Shankar Mali Construction Service of Kathmandu and Man Shahi Construction Service of Kalikot have each been blacklisted for three years. Dhruba Building Service of Birendranagar and Kashyap Contractors Service of Kathmandu have been barred from procurement for two years, while Abinash Construction Service of Chhayanath, Mugu, has been blacklisted for one year.
The action was taken under Clause 63 of the Public Procurement Act, 2063. The blacklisted companies cannot participate in public procurement during their respective penalty periods.
