Bhojpur, October 28

The District Police Office, Bhojpur arrested six persons on various charges and made them public at a press meet in the district on Wednesday.

Those arrested have been identified as Bhuwan Prasad Rai of Ranibas VDC-3, Prem Bahadur Rai and Sumit Rai of Basikhora VDC-1, Pujan Bista of Khawa VDC-8 and Binod Magrati of Bhojpur municipality-7 of the district.

According to DSP Raj Kumar Lamsal, they were held over the past two weeks for their involvement in illegal trade of arms and ammunition, rape and vandalism in the district. Bhuwan was held on the charge of possessing arms without license on the day of Tika.

A nine-year-minor died when a loaded gun was fired accidentally the same day. A case has been lodged against Bhuwan, according to DSP Lamsal.

Pujan was arrested on the charge of incest. A rape case has been filed against him. Similarly, Prem and Sumit were held in possession of a pistol each on October 26.

Case has been filed against them whereas Binod was held on the charge of vandalizing a bolero jeep under the influence of alcohol in Bhojpur bazaar on October 18.

A public offense case has been filed against him, said DSP Lamsal.
