GAIGHAT: As many as six persons were injured after a group of youths under the influence of alcohol attacked a vehicle carrying a body in Beltar-Basaha Municipality, Udayapur, on Monday night.

The injured are: Bhab Rraj Rai, Harka Raj Rai, Padam Rai, Karna Rai, Karna Bahadur Rai and Purna Bahadur Rai of the municipality, said police.

The incident occurred when the body of Sushma Rai, 18, was being taken to District Hospital, Udayapur in a tractor for post-mortem. Karna Bahadur, a victim, said the group, including Debid Khadka, Avinas Khadka, Gopal Khadka, Ratna Khadka and Dinesh Khadka attacked them indiscriminately.

Area Police Office Beltar SI Narayan Tamang said police had arrested all the attackers except Dinesh.

The victims have demanded action against the attackers.
