PHIDIM: The inmates clashed with a security guard in Panchthar District Prison on Monday at around 1 pm, injuring six.

The injured are identified as guard Teknath Rijal and inmates Premjung Kerung, Hari Lawati, Santabir Angdembe, Vijay Shrestha and Chandra BK.

They clashed after the guard Rijal had an argument with the inmates Kerung and Lawati on some undisclosed issues, in prison cell number 2, informed the Prison Head, Sirjana Luitel.

The injured are out of danger, though the guard Rijal and the inmate Kerung were severely injured. They are undergoing treatment at Panchthar District Hospital, informed the Prison administration.

Panchthar Chief District Officer Purushottam Ghimire informed that the clash was under investigation and the inmates involved in the incident were being held to transfer to another prison.
