UPDATE: Identities disclosed of those missing in Arun River jeep plunge

BHOJPUR: Identities have been disclosed of those missing in Arun River jeep plunge.

Six persons went missing after a jeep (Ko 1 Ja 3749) in which they were travelling plunged into Arun River from Akkar Bhir of Dharmadevi Municipality, Sankhuwasabha the last night.

The police have identified the missing persons as driver of the jeep Santosh BK, Sangam Shrestha, Sadikshya Shrestha, Sameer Shrestha (2 month old infant), Pramesh Thapa Magar, all from Khandbaari Municipality-9 of Sankhuwasabha, and Khabarman Pithakothe of Khotang.

Rescue operation is going on, which according to the police, has been difficult as the water level has risen in Arun River due to continuous rainfall.

Six missing after jeep plunges into Arun River

BHOJPUR: Six persons have gone missing after a jeep in which they were travelling plunged into Arun River from Akkar Bhir of Dharmadevi Municipality, Sankhuwasabha on Tuesday night.

The jeep (Ko 1 Ja 3749), which was carrying a patient, was en route to Dharan from Khandbari, district headquarters of Sankhuwasabha.

According to District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, a team of police from Khadbari was sent immediately for the rescue.

Continuous rainfall has resulted in the rise water level of Arun River due to which the jeep drowned completely, creating an obstacle in carrying out the rescue operation, informed police.

The driver has been identified as Santosh BK while the names of other passengers have not been disclosed yet.
