KALAIYA: A boy was found dead in the Gandak irrigation canal in local Phera VDC of Bara district on Saturday.

Police identified the deceased as six-year-old Sagar Sah, the son of Ranjan Saha of Phera VDC-3.

The boy had gone to dispose of the idol of Goddess Durga, installed and worshipped during the Dasain festival, in the canal when the incident happened, it is learnt.
