Sluggish reconstruction of quake-hit schools

The reconstruction of schools ravaged by the April 2015 earthquakes has been taking place in a snail-paced manner in Hetauda.
The plinth level construction of quake hit schools, that had started last year, is yet to be completed, according to District Education Office, Hetauda.
The government of Nepal had initiated construction of seven school buildings with grant assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency in November last year.
Reconstruction of the schools started with Rs 205 million grants from JICA.
Construction of Faparbari-based Devaki Secondary School, Bhimphedi-based Mahendra Secondary School and Harnamadi-based Panchakanya Secondary School is under way.
Likewise, Tileshwor Primary School of Tileshwor, Kamala Devi Secondary School of Dandakharka, Ganesh Primary School of Basamadi and Tistung-based Tistung Primary School are under construction.
Meanwhile, District Project Implementation Department Chief Prem Bahadur KC informed that he had directed the concerned stakeholders to expedite the construction work.
