A total of 116 smoke-free clay ovens were distributed to the locals under the social initiatives with support from the non-governmental organisations managed. The ovens were brought to the village in a helicopter of the Fishtail Airlines, Sennurpu Tamang, a local resident said.

With the distribution of the improved ovens, the life in the Himalayan region is expected to get easier, help in keeping the houses warm and result in better health of the folks.

It is learned that the energy efficient stoves were imported from Lhasa of China.
