INARUWA: The District Police Office, Sunsari, has seized a huge quantity of petroleum product illegally stored in Bhokraha and Laukahi VDCs.

The police impounded a total of 6,600 litres of fuel from the two sites on Friday evening.

Superintendent of Police Poshram Pokharel said that the police personnel seized 2,700 litres of petroleum product in Bhokraha-5 on Saturday morning while it was being smuggled keeping on a truck (Ba 3 Kha 7011).

The seized fuel would be handed over to the officials of Setubandh Customs Office, Koshi Barrage.

The smuggling of petroleum products is on the rise in the district during the time of strikes and agitations.
