Snakebite cases have gone up with the beginning of hot season in Saptari district.

A minor died and five others were injured after a poisonous snake bit them in different places of Saptari today. The deceased has been identified as two-year old Priya Kumari Raya of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality.

The minor was bitten at around 2:00 pm yesterday.

Similarly, Manish Khatun, 8, Khusbu Yadav, 9, of Chhinamasta Rural Municipality, Jyoti Kumari Sah, 10, of Rajbiraj Municipality, Pawani Devi Rajak, 35, of Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality and Sagira Khatun, 6, of Mahadewa RM have been admitted to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital for treatment.
