Snakebite victimises dozens in Rasuwa

RASUWA: Patients of snakebite have increased in Rasuwa district.

According to the District Health Officer Bibek Kumar Lal, in the last two months, dozens of people have visited the health centre seeking anti-venom vaccines.

Lal, however, added that they had to refer two people to Kathmandu as they lacked the necessary vaccines.

It has been learned that the number of snakes in the district has increased after the devastating earthquake of April 2015. People working in fields, collecting fodders, walking through the bushes/forests are more victimised by the reptiles.

Lal has urged all to be cautious while doing their chores. Also, in cases of bite, he has suggested not to tie ropes around the bitten part or to bleed out with the help of a sharp tool.
