Snowfall continues to hit Humla life hard for five days

HUMLA: As thick as two-feet of snow has accumulated in various places of Humla district for last five days, hitting the life of locals here hard.

According to local Tula Singh, a local micro hydropower project Heldum has been shut down leading to power outage whereas the telephone services have been disrupted for a week, due to the incessant snowfall.

Freezing temperature has increased chill in the district headquarters.

The local government offices looked deserted as service seekers did not come due to the increasing cold.

"People have not been able to transport goods to their places from district headquarters as several trails are disrupted by snow, "shared another local Ram Raj Shahi.
