Phidim, January 28:

Three-feet of snow has piled up in Pauwabhanjyang and the adjoining area.

Snowfall has been continuing here for the past four days and the hills including the Pauwabhanjyang, Bhainsepokhari, Phalaut, Sandakpur, Mahalekothi and Jaljale Pokhari have been covered with snow.

The snowfall has attracted a large number of tourists who are coming to the district to see and play with snow.

Hotel entrepreneur Dawa Sherpa of Pauwabhanjyang said the snowfall has not stopped from the past four days and people from Phidim, Ilam, Jhapa, Sunsari and Morang are visiting the places in large numbers.

With the snowfall, the district has come under the cold spell. Farmers of Iwanagi, Tawanagi and Phalaut area have descended to the low lands with their cattle.
