Social transformation only possible when daughters are educated: CM Raut
MAHOTTARI: Province 2 Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut stressed the need to keep all the responsibilities related to education under the Province government domain.
At a function held to distribute bicycles to students (girls) in Mahottari on Wednesday, CM Raut said the provincial government should be handed over with overall authority which would help to make a leap forward in the education sector.
Arguing that the federal government's education policy ruined the entire education sector, he said the provincial government was ready to take leadership in education.
"Today's need is technical education", Chief Minister Raut emphasised pledging efforts for making the province as a hub for technical vocational education.
CM Raut whose campaign 'Save Daughters, Educate Daughters' for Province 2 has been gaining praises expressed his belief that the campaign could bring educational revolution among women.
'Daughters are boon. No one should treat them like a curse. Social transformation is only possible when daughters are educated", he said,
Meanwhile, bicycles were distributed in Pipara Rural Municipality, Jaleswor Municipality and Ekdara Municipality of Mahottari district under the campaign 'Save Daughters, Educate Daughters'.
As many as 272 VIII grader girls in the district were provided with bicycles in presence of CM Raut. Provincial state ministers, local leaders and former ministers also attended the event.
