ILAM: Local social workers have donated three ropanis land worth around Rs 600,000 for the construction of a birthing centre building to the health post in Rong Rural Municipality-2 in the district.

Locals Dik Bahadur Rai, Bir Bahadur Rai and Ram Prasad Rai donated one ropani each for the birthing centre construction, shared the chairperson of ward 2 Tek Bahadur Tamang.

The local people have been compelled to walk a long distance to receive services in the absence of a birthing centre in the ward.

Planning has been carried out to construct a well-equipped building for the birthing centre in the donated land.
