SOLUKHUMBU:  The transmission tower of Salleri-based Shikhar FM 99.6 MHz collapsed on Thursday afternoon, disrupting its broadcasting.

A windstorm which had begun since the morning led to the collapse, according to Dipak Raj Bhandari, a member of the FM Management Committee.

"The incident occurred at around 3:30 pm", he added.

This commercial FM had come into operation in 2013/14 and has a 1,000-watt capacity.
