BIRGUNJ: Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party General Secretary Jitendra Sonal and Bara district Chairperson Nawalkishor Singh were released on Thursday.

Responding to a Habeas Corpus petition, the District Court, Bara, ordered release of the two leaders. Sonal and Sigh were accused of vandalising cargo vehicles on the Birgunj-Pathalaiya corridor.

Bara police had detained them a few days ago and sent them to prison in a public offence case after they failed to post the bail amount of Rs 147,375.
