The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kathmandu on Friday held a solemn memorial in honor of those affected by the Gen Z movement of September 8–9.

Leading the Korean community in Nepal, the embassy paid tribute to those who lost their lives and sustained injuries, while launching a fundraising campaign to support medical treatment for the injured. Korean entrepreneurs and community members participated actively in the initiative.

Korean cuisine was also served to encourage donations during the event. Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Park Tae-young reaffirmed Korea's long-standing friendship with Nepal and pledged continued support for disaster relief and reconstruction efforts, commending Nepali citizens and the government for upholding democratic values.

Nepal and the Republic of Korea established diplomatic relations in 1974, fostering strong bilateral ties and cooperation across multiple sectors ever since.
