Sovereignty can't be compromised for power, says DPM KC

DHANGADI: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Chitra Bahadur KC, said he would not stay in the current government if he had to compromise on sovereignty and national integrity.

The Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal president KC was speaking during the Kailali district conference organised by the party in Dhangadhi on Friday.

He clarified that he had not comprised on any issue to join the incumbent KP Sharma Oli-led government.

KC, meanwhile, expressed his displeasure on the Constitution Amendment Bill registered by the government and said it was "on the behest of external forces."

He even blamed that the House was forcefully trying to amend the new Constitution.

Speaking on the occasion, KC lamented that the internal forces were being used against its own people for the interest of the external forces.

He even accused some political parties of trying to disturb the existing harmony among the people of Tarai and hilly origins.
