GAIGHAT: SP Govinda Shah of District Police Office, Udayapur was called to Police Headquarters, Kathmandu for involvement in timber smuggling on Saturday.

Shah was transferred to the DPO three months ago and was found to be involved in smuggling timber.

It is said that Shah had come into disrepute after timber was found hidden under firewood in a tractor.

The firewood in the tractor was taken to operate the mess of the office. Meanwhile, an investigation committee was formed under the coordination of the SP of police headquarters after the incident was made public.
