Speaker for peaceful stir to press for CA polls

Terhathum, April 22:

Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang today urged people to stage peaceful protests to demand constituent assembly (CA) polls be held on time.

Inaugurating the Rhododendron Festival in Basantapur of Terhathum district, Nembang said: “The unity of people from the eastern Mechi to the Mahakali zone is essential for the success of the CA polls. Agitation is also essential to press for a timely poll because the goal of the movement is yet to be realised.”

He added that there were numerous challenges in holding the CA polls and said: “A new agitation should be an organised one.”

“The main work of drafting a constitution for restructuring of the nation still remains,” said Nembang, adding: “The Maoists are obstructing regular parliament proceedings. We are working in the face of too many challenges.”
