KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 6

Speaker of the House of Representatives Agni Prasad Sapkota urged the government to resolve the impasse in the federal Parliament.

In a meeting with Minister for Law, Justice and Federal Parliament Dilendra Prasad Badu today, Speaker Sapkota placed the request for the same.

Stating that it was not good to have prolonged disruption of the Parliament, Sapkota asked the minister to be serious about lifting the obstruction.

The next meeting of HoR is scheduled on February 9.

According to Shreedhar Neupane, press adviser to Speaker Sapkota, the two leaders discussed ending the deadlock in the parliament.

The major opposition party CPN-UML has been obstructing the meetings of the federal Parliament disapproving the working style of the speaker.

The speaker, according to press adviser Neupane, said that people's legislative body could not function properly and discussion on various issues of national importance could not be held due to obstruction in the Parliament.

Therefore, he urged all the political parties to cooperate and forge consensus for running the Parliament's business smoothly.
