Kathmandu, June 9:

Twenty-four permanent staffers of the Roli Garment Private Limited (RGPL) situated inside the Balaju Industrial Estate have not received salaries for their work from the past six months, workers there said. “When we demanded our salary, the owners challenged us to seek support from anywhere but he was not in a position to pay the workers,” Prem B Basnet, a staffer said. Pawan Kumar Mittal, the owner of the RGPL, admitted that the company could not pay the staffers because it has not received the payment of the sold goods. “We have applied for the government’s permission to close the company; we will pay our employees as soon as we receive permission,” he added.
