PALPA: Official works of Tansen Municipality in the district have been affected for two weeks after almost all the Municipality officials have been out on various "trips".

Executive officer Hari Krishna Gyawali and officer Bishnu Poudel had left the office on October 27 to join a team of Palpa chamber of commerce and industries, which had organised a trip.

Though engineer Manohar Shakya has been assigned the task of acting chief of the office, most of the works of office have been halted as he has not been given full authority. Consequently, various works, including development ones, have been badly hit.

Shakya informed that he had no authority to take decision on various issues including the monetary matters.

Although the municipal staffers have been enjoying the tours, service seekers have been bearing the brunt. They lamented that the officials left the office without considering the problems of the locals.
