Stakeholders close to finding solution to Tarai unrest, says Oli
Kathmandu, December 28
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said that the stakeholders were close to finding a resolution to Madhes problems.
Accepting a memorandum from Reporters Club Chair Rishi Dhamala, the PM said the situation would improve soon as the government had intensified talks with different stakeholders. “We will intensify talks at the national and international levels.
The agitating forces have begun to understand things. Only a small section has not understood things and we are making efforts to make them understand,” Oli said.
He said he was committed to settle the issues through dialogue and urged the agitating forces to respond to the government proposal responsibly. “All sides need to present themselves in a responsible manner,” he said, adding that portraying one caste, geography, profession and party as enemy was wrong.
Oli said if provincial boundaries were changed in a legitimate manner, he would accept it. He, however, said boundaries could be changed as per the wishes of the people.
The PM said he was in favour of making a small Cabinet, but since there were many parties in the current coalition, he was compelled to accommodate larger number of partners.
