‘Statute implementation major challenge’
Ramechhap, October 2
CPN-UML Vice-chairman Bhim Rawal today said implementing the constitution ias the major challenge facing the country.
Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Chautari Ramechhap at Manthali, Rawal accused the incumbent Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government of not being serious about executig the new statute.
Stating that the former government led by his party’s chairman KP Oli had accorded high priority to holding elections of local bodies and Parliament, Rawal charged that the present government had tried to create confusion by raising the issue of constitution amendment.
He asked the government and Madhesi parties to justify the need for constitution amendment.
Coming down heavily on the government, Rawal accused it of hatching a conspiracy to push the country into a political vacuum by delaying the election process.
Noting that no constitution was completely acceptable anywhere in the world, Rawal reminded that over 90 per cent Constituent Assembly members had approved and signed the constitution.
“It is foolhardiness to say that the statute is discriminatory as it was signed by more than two-third majority of CA members” Rawal added.
