Sthapit to talk to vendors today

Kathmandu, October 21:

Former mayor of Kathmandu Keshav Sthapit, who has been assigned by the government to talk to agitating street vendors and suggest solution to their problems, has called the agitating vendors for talks tomorrow.

“We had an informal talk today and I am sure we would come to a conclusion tomorrow,” Sthapit said.

“I have a complete package of proposal to manage the vendors. We will discuss the package and find an appropriate solution,” he said.

President of Federation of National Industries and Commerce (FNIC) Shiva Kattel and the organisation affiliated to pro-UML General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) have been invited for the talks at the City Hall.

Today the FNIC organised sit-in in front of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Lalitpur Sub Metropolitan City and Ministry of Local Development.

Yesterday, the Home Ministry has requested all to provide necessary suggestion and support to Sthapit.
